Professor Simon LAM is currently the Associate Dean (Research) and Professor of the School of Nursing, and Centre Director of Integrated Health Centre at Tung Wah College.

Simon has published over 100 refereed articles and book chapters on the field of infection control, psychometric testing, and public health. He developed the Compliance with Standard Precautions Scale for measuring compliance with infection control practice among nursing in clinical settings. This scale has been translated into more than ten languages and is adopted for use in over 30 countries.

Simon earned his PhD from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2015. He obtained the Fellow in Research and Education from the Hong Kong Academy of Nursing in 2019, received the 2021 Emerging Nurse Researcher/Scholar Award for the Asia Region from the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and was recognized by Stanford University’s List of the World’s Top 2% Scientists (under the subfield of nursing, general medicine, and public health) in the single year of 2020, 2021, and 2022. Recently, he has inducted as Fellow of American Academy of Nursing, FAAN 2022, which is an honor reserved exclusively for the most senior scholars.
