Summary
The Translational Research Centre for Digital Mental Health (TRC-DMH) participated in the Hong Kong International Medical and Healthcare Fair 2026, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Building on the success of last year’s seminar, the Centre returned to the HKTDC stage with a session titled “Accelerating Mental Health Innovation through AI Research and Adoption”. Dr Fowie Ng shared how AI-driven research can enhance prevention, early identification, and personalisation in mental health care, highlighting both real-world opportunities and implementation challenges.
The seminar also featured a public discussion panel with Mr Stephen Wong, Deputy Director of the Mental Health Association of Hong Kong (MHAHK), and Mr Kevin Yeung, CEO of Radiance Tech Ltd., who explored how cross-sector collaboration, ethical practice, and practical adoption strategies can bring AI-enabled mental health solutions into everyday services.
At the exhibition, TRC-DMH showcased its new commercial product, EverJoy VR, an evidence-based immersive VR platform designed for older adults living in residential aged care. Through nature-based and reminiscence-focused VR scenarios, EverJoy VR aims to promote relaxation, engagement, and emotional well-being among older adults in care settings. The Centre remains committed to translating digital and AI innovations into accessible, real-world mental health solutions for the community.
