Stephen Wong, Assistant Director of The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong, is a highly esteemed figure in mental health services and rehabilitation. Recognized as an Outstanding Social Worker and a Fellow of Mental Health Social Worker, his contributions are widely acclaimed. With a background in professional mental health studies from Yale, Kansas, and Nottenham Universities, Stephen is deeply committed to advancing the mental health service.

 

He leads as the convenor of the Chapter of Mental Health in Hong Kong, advocating for professional competency frameworks for the mental health social workers. Stephen is also highly expertise in Strength-Based interventions and has been delivered numerous trainings with professionals across universities and organizations. He has several publications relating to mental health and strength model. 

 

Over his three-decade career, he has spearheaded strategic development, fundraising, and management of mental health services. His pioneering projects, funded by prestigious entities like the Jockey Club and Community Chest, address critical gaps in services, including perinatal and youth wellbeing support.
